I Really Piss People Off

I always say that if we all thought alike that I would commit suicide. The world would be a dull place if we all agreed.

I have a blog that I like a lot. The blogger is the Stephen King of bloggers, prolific and wordy. I normally don't do comments there because this blogger loves the Whino. But he posted about Cesar Milan and I just couldn't help myself, I commented. Well, this set off this blogger because he thinks the sun rises and sets in Cesar's ass. And now I see that he did an entire post dedicated to the "troll" about Cesar. Plus doing some more posts about how great Milan is.

Milan subscribes to the pack mentality of dogs for training them. Although the blogger swears Milan trains people, Milan does train dogs. I use pack mentality also, who doesn't. But there are limits to this way of thinking and if it is taken too seriously, dangerous consequences.

It's all fine and well to explain behavior in terms of pack mentality BUT, and it is a big BUT, there are also problems with the way Milan uses it. The first time I watched his program, I became so nervous watching him. Without even receiving additional information I knew what the problem was. Pack mentality requires a leader BUT when you become the pack's leader, you also become a target. Dogs just don't accept you as a leader and that's the end of it. Their drive to mate comes into play here and that is one strong drive. Whether or not they are neutered makes little difference, the instinct doesn't go away entirely with altering.

So you are the leader and watching Milan, that often comes from a physical dominance. That is what makes me nervous. If you use the physical, then you can expect it back. Yes, I have grabbed the muzzle, like the mom does when she is teaching social skills to her puppies. That is about all I subscribe to physically in training a dog. To hold a dog into submission is a dangerous proposition in my book. Then the dog knows the physical side and will use that against the leader when the leader shows weakness. Weakness can come in the form of just falling down. And once that forced submission dog sees your weakness, he or she will come after you. It also can lead to the dog going after others to make them submissive to itself, this is what happens to children who are attacked.

Milan doesn't go that far with his theory of pack mentality. But it is a part of it and he is ignoring it. Sure I can make a dog submissive by being physical and it will appear to be trained. But is it really? Or is it just buying time until something happens and then it goes in to return the "favor". Milan is in California. The biggie in California are attorneys who do nothing but cover up the problems celebrities might have, a pregnancy out of wedlock, a DUI, and Milan is no different. Being in LA, I've heard "rumors", credible rumors, but no direct evidence of lawsuits because of "accidents" with Milan's pack. Course we have all see clips of his pack doing naughty but the blogger says they are taken out of context. I don't see that when I see his pack fighting between themselves, how can that be out of context? Was it a demonstration, staged, and then taken out of context? I've watched his show a few times and each time I see something that isn't quite right.

All I know is that I don't watch Milan regularly because it makes me too nervous. Putting this on television and having stupid people think they can do the same is a plan for disaster. There's a reason why there is a disclaimer at the beginning of his show, his methods are dangerous. Other trainers don't have a disclaimer although the blogger says it is because Milan works with aggressive dogs. What is Victoria Stilwell's claim to fame, working with aggressive dogs, but she doesn't have a disclaimer. When Milan's shows first started there was no disclaimer. As I understand from the "rumor" mill, it was put on there after the first lawsuit was filed.

All in all, I think it is just a matter of time before something happens and then will people understand that Milan is just another thrill seeker in Hollywood, LaLaLand. And he will fall by the wayside like so many others have done. I just hope that it doesn't take a life before that happens.

"because he thinks the sun rises and sets in Cesar's ass"

That's odd because a vast percentage of the dog world has already discredited Millan.

Plus Millan has even been sued by some of his clients.

But he is a cult leader, and he attracts gullible people suspectible to being led like sheep.

I just wish I were able to find those lawsuits. And yes, I can see him as more of a cult leader than anything else.

This is one lawsuit I found.

http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2006-05-05-dog-whisperer_x.htm
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A television producer is suing dog trainer Cesar Millan, star of TV's The Dog Whisperer, claiming that his Labrador retriever was injured at Millan's training facility after being suffocated by a choke collar and forced to run on a treadmill. In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Superior Court, 8 Simple Rules producer Flody Suarez says he took 5-year-old Gator to the Dog Psychology Center on Feb. 27 to deal with fears of other dogs and strangers. Hours after dropping the dog off at the facility, Suarez claimed a worker called to inform him the animal had been rushed to a veterinarian. He later found the dog "bleeding from his mouth and nose, in an oxygen tent gasping for breath and with severe bruising to his back inner thighs," the lawsuit claims. The facility's workers allegedly placed a choke collar on the dog, pulled him onto a treadmill and forced him to "overwork." Suarez says he spent at least $25,000 on medical bills and the dog must undergo more surgeries for damage to his esophagus. A call to the Dog Psychology Center, also named as a defendant, was not immediately returned. A spokesman for National Geographic Channel, which airs Millan's show, declined comment. "As of this time, the National Geographic Channel has not been served with either lawsuit, and we do not comment on pending litigation," said Russell Howard, the channel's vice president of communications. The complaint claims breach of contract, fraud, animal cruelty and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other allegations. It seeks more than $25,000in damages.

And upon further research, I find that he has been criticized by many humane organizations, universities, and other respected people in the humane community. Good to know I'm not the only one he makes nervous. He's definitely an accident waiting to happen.

Millan uses people like the person who writes that blog, Honesty, because these gullible idiots are making Millan rich and promoting him as he pushes pit bulls and feeds off that fad.

Millan is the usual trickster who knows how to get others to make money for him.

Like a Ponzi scheme, but the promoters don't get any money.

Millan gets it all and laughs all the way to the bank.

He already has advocated things that have resulted in injury and death.

Remember his claims that you can magically "fix" red zone aggressive dogs by walking them around a cat or rabbit in a cage and saying "no no" a few times?

Well, THAT doesn't work.

It just means that people think their red zone aggressive dogs won't attack other pets, then of course they attack and kill other pets.

Millan is evil. He advocates animal abuse in the name of having dangerous dogs.

He WILL NOT admit that there are dangerous dogs that can't be "fixed" and that need to be euthanized, or else people and other pets get killed.

He says that other people's pets (and people!) are less important than fighting breeds and dangerous dogs.

I keep seeing him referred to as a cult leader. And that seems to fit. He's another Whino in that he knows people and how to manipulate them. Every trainer says they train people not dogs, he's nothing new. I called a trainer once and learned that he intended to train me rather than the dog. That's okay by me but it doesn't make Millan a standout in the group.

And you're right Anon, he is dangerous, that's my point too. People at home who can't afford him personally will try his tactics and it will be disaster. I bet things have already happened. It's only a matter of time.

are you referring to the kcblowhard's blog? kcblowhard aka the wino hand puppet. i saw that he was pimping the king of gladiator dogs few days ago. i've meaning to read the whole thing but the guy is just nauseating, i can handle him in small doses only.

milan is an evil moron.

HonestyHelps said...

Yeah, Craven, I know that KC blowhard, Whino's blow(hard), but no brass ring for you on this one. Terriman's is the one I am referring to. Maybe he and PBurns are one in the same??? Or at least they eat from the same bowl.

scurrilous amateur blogger said...

although i agree with terrierman's position on extreme breeding of dogs and the creation of unhealthy freaks, the similarity ends there. i don't even agree with him on pit bulls, i just like the way he dishes it out to the nutters. i think he is an arrogant. and i thank you for not linking to his blog in your blog.

and i checked and didn't see that he published your comment.

Craven, I have no use for the man really but he does have a lot of useful info. I made commentS on his posting on Millan, the first one. It set him off and he did a post about the troll, me. He did publish my comments and gave me hell. Course I think he looked like a fool doing so. And being a nutter, he is a fool.

I do hope you have seen the stories on the rgj mostly dogs blog. There are two sections, a pit attacked a woman and killed her dog and another dog is critical. It's on the cookie package.

HonestyHelps said...

Hi Gret, good to hear from you again. No I haven't seen those. do you have links?

HonestyHelps said...

Gret, I just went there and it said it was a boxer according to animal control. Course we know that "No Kill" which Reno subscribes to pushes that pits get a "bad rap" and it doesn't surprise me if this is a lie.

i found the thread with your comment. i find it interesting that patrick burns would stoop so low as to divert the focus with a comment like "do you hunt?" what the fuck does your hunting or lack there of have to do with canine dominance or cesar milan's training methods? i think the old guy is slipping.

like a falcon in stoop, terrierman is falling rapidly into the cesspool of dog nutters.

HonestyHelps said...

Craven, if you notice I didn' comment any more after that because I realized he was sinking into the tarpit of the pit nutter with that shit. Too bad because he has posted some good posts about pits and tore the KC blogger a new one, which I enjoyed very much. But where is his loyalities if he degraded one of the Whino's biggest Whinonettes? I'm not sure he even know which side of the fence he is on.

Felony said...

I have reason to believe that all of terrierman's witty remarks about pit bulls is simply to generate ratings.

I think he is sick fuck with badger "hunting" crap.

HonestyHelps said...

I skipped over a lot of his trash and just went for certain info. And you're probably right that he is just seeking attention. Haven't really had the urge to go back lately, wonder why? That's what is so good about these blogs is you get other opinions and can be subject to a change of mind. Such, of course, does not apply to "No Kill'ers" and pit nutters, no changing the mind there.

Yes, Patrick Burns is terrierman.

He actually (MIGHT!) has at least one ball. He has discussed the hypocrisy and sleaze of the AKC, which very few breeders seem to have the cojones to even address.

But the problem is he stills hang out with ickbags like Gina Spadafori.

Ever noticed how few men there are in the world of lady dog breeding? These wacko women. What guy would want to hang out with them? The wackos always end up twisting these guys around their finger and getting them to do what they want.

HonestyHelps said...

He seems to hate any main stream organization, just like the Whino.

HonestyHelps said...

Anon one of those attacks you sent was too old for my blog. It would be an impossible task to go back and record attacks prior to my starting date. Appreciate your helping me out. I posted the other one.

Bagheera Kiplingi said...

Interesting that someone from Cesar's tv show reads his blog. What a boot licker.

Patrick Burns gets awfully worked up over humanely euthanizing dogs yet his blog is plastered with photos of dead animals. I don't get it?

HonestyHelps said...

Cult leaders kept tight reins on their followers. Just minor attention like coming to his blog is enough to keep him as a pawn. Notice how birds of a feather truly do flock together.
