RYAN CLINTON AND NO KILL TAKE A WHOOPING IN AUSTIN THANKS TO WWW.DOGSBITE.ORG

That's what it appears to be. A few weeks ago, Colleen Lynn of www.DogsBite.ORG, presented a factual report to the Public Safety Commission in Austin that plainly showed that a 35% jump in dog bites coincided with the city's adoption of No Kill. Ryan Clinton of No Kill presented his report. At the next meeting, these reports were discussed. Seems Ryan had no confidence in his report. Where were you that day, Ryan? You didn't bother to go to the meeting to "defend" your report. Could it be that you knew you would get reamed a new one so you stayed away?

Austin, TX - DogsBite.org recently reviewed 5-years of dog bite data gained from the City of Austin under the Freedom of Information Act. The data shows that dog bites have increased substantially since the city adopted a No-Kill policy in 2010. Between 2009 and 2011, dog bites increased 35%. The primary offenders of all bites were pit bulls and their mixes, responsible for 22% (1,288) followed by Labradors and their mixes, which inflicted 12% (682) during the 5-year period.

The City of Austin ended its Pet Licensing Program in 2008/2009.

Seems this has gotten Ryan Clinton's panties all in a wad and he fired back with his own "report" which, of course, states there is no correlation between the adoption of No Kill and the 35% rise in dog bites in Travis County.

However, the Public Safety Commission begs to differ. Seems they are a little upset about the poor report Ryan turned into them. Even taking to waving it in the air as they talked about being "very very disappointed" in the report. You did yourself in, Ryan and now your credibility is questioned. About time.

Commissioner (Vice Chair) Kim Rossmo speaking of Ryan's report to the Commission.

I just would have to say, I wanted to warn other commissioners that this is ... a very poor report.
Again we see the use of acronyms without explanations.
You'll note that this particular graph; we are not through 2012, so what may look like a drop has really no meaning. We don't know what the cut off point, what month it was.
They have no idea how to do a trend line.
Bottom line is the relevant issue is what has occurred since 2009. Going back to 2000 only washes out data.
I just pulled some of my own figures off my iPhone, and bottom line Travis County's population went up 3.6% since 2009. The number of bites went up 35%, which is a 30% per capita rate -- which is quite significant.
I don't know, it's only two years; it's hard to know if it is an ongoing thing, but I am very very disappointed in this report, which I think was designed to confuse not help us make a proper decision.
My final thing is, I am not quite sure why a mandatory neutering policy is in conflict with what they are trying to do, but I did not think this was designed to help us make the right decisions [holds up the report].
I would urge you all to be very careful looking at the report and feel free to examine the numbers yourself.

Poor little Ryan, his house of cards is falling, just like the house of cars of his Messiah has already fallen. Ryan is a slow learner, he hasn't jumped ship yet but he will before it is over. I must say it couldn't happen to a "nicer" guy. Stay tuned, Ryan, there is more.

Colleen Lynn ROCKS! Those no kill nut jobs just want to set up nonprofits where they keep the dogs crated for life and live large off the donations that are supposed to go to the animals but instead go to the people.

good timing.

spindltop proves it is bad for dogs and dogsbite.org proves it is bad for people.

Well its about time! I hope all Cities contemplating no kill will take the time to study and asked some fundamental questions about no kill. My expereice is that the politicians are so eager to jump on the band wagon for a "Photo Op" that they never take the time to asked questions and many times are not helped by City Staff that does same.

It is funny that the Commissioner could not figure out why spay neuter was not on the no kill agenda. When you are associated with breeders right now they have the best of both worlds. Breed like crazy sell the top 20% dump the 80% at a no kill shelter either them selves or from folks they have gvien dogs too that were ill prepared to care for them and all with no guilt. Then do it all over again. Mandantory spay neuter would put a dent in that or at least make it more expensive!

Breeders don't spay and neuter the pets they sell to maximize their tax-cheating profits.

The unwitting buyers, before they know it, have "accidental" litters on their hands or decide to try to make a fast buck and set up a backyard breeding operation.

The shelters fill up to overflowing with the victims of all this.

The taxpayers and rescuers are supposed to go bankrupt cleaning up after the breeders so the breeders can go on tax cheating and breeding their way into big bucks (and they ALL make money, despite the false claims of some of this "show breeding" crooks to try to hide their crookery.

That's breeder logic. That's AKC puppy mill logic.

No Kill lies and falsely claims there are homes for all to cover for the breeders irresponsibility.

THERE AREN'T.

Animals and people suffer, No Kill Slow Kill style.

Because the puppy mill and dog fighting industry are behind No Kill, and Clinton just gets his propaganda from them via people like their lobbyists, RICK BERMAN, the lobbyist for animal profiteers, and his puppets like Winograd.

Mandatory spay neuter means that breeders have to get honest and license their businesses that they are currently hiding. It also means that their tax cheating and financial swindling can get exposed.

This pretty well sums up what's behind No Kill, this examination of a group that Berman props up

All these "pet owner" and "dog owner" groups are variations of the same.

The AKC kennel clubs give money to these lobbying groups, as do the dog fighters and the puppy mills that prop up the AKC, among other things. There are other related lobbying groups, like the lab animal swindlers and breeders.

The animal profiteers want no laws or regulation so they can keep tax cheating and torturing their way into profits.

They use No Kill as a front to get this agenda into the system, hiding and pretending to "care" about animals.

They care about nothing but money, their own.

The tax cheating breeders and dog fighters of Austin and environs are preying on pets and people.

They are making mountains of tax free money thanks to lack of regulation, and the taxpayer and rescuers have to pay to try to clean up after them via the No Kill shakedown. It doesn't work of course.

But they'll still send their low-rent shysters out there to try to lie to honest people!

Remember the severity of bite issues.

The labs and chihuahuas bites are a few puncture marks and some bruises.

The pit bulls, because of how breeders intentionally breed them, remove arms and legs and rip out chunks of flesh

Austin, you have a pit bull breeder problem!
